City Covenant
Coalition is a network (nexus) of “ascension
gift” ministers and ministries that come together in covenant to
transform cities and disciple the nations with the “gospel of the
Kingdom of God”.
+ Methodology
- We will
relate to one another on an individual basis.
- We will
have quarterly regional meetings to affirm one another by vision
casting, impartation, instruction, prayer and networking.
- We will
utilize available technology to communicate news regularly.
- The leadership
of ‘CCC’ can serve as a presbytery for members as the
need arises and in extreme cases when representation and mediation
is needed.
- ‘CCC’ will
have no legal authority over churches. We respect the right of the
local church to have it’s own autonomous government.
- Members
will commit finances to fund our vision (this most likely includes
administrative costs, salaries and agreed upon ministry endeavors
and conferences). Credentialed members will commit financially and
be expected to give an amount no less than 5% of their personal income
(a grace period may be given to struggling ministries who are willing
to commit to a financial plan). Ministries and churches under the
leadership of ‘CCC’ members will be encouraged to give
annual offerings. Additional monies may be raised to fund missions,
and other agreed upon ministry endeavors.
- Ministers
of this coalition should walk in financial integrity and maintain
a high standard of biblical stewardship (including the churches or
ministries they oversee).
- We will
utilize the multifarious ascension gift ministries and resources
of our fellowship to apostolically and prophetically build the kingdom
according to the New Testament pattern.
- Members
of ‘CCC’ will not be sectarian but will be encouraged
to partner with other like-minded leaders who want to build the Kingdom
of God in their region.
- Members
outside the New York City region will be encouraged to help build
the “City Church” in their region. After it is shown
that their regions have matured; (towards the “city church” model)
leaders with apostolic giftings who emerge from ‘CCC’ may
be released to start similar networks in their regional sphere of
influence.
- (a)
Such sent out apostolic leaders can still keep their membership
and credentials with ‘CCC’. (For personal apostolic
oversight and input).
- (b)
A newly formed regional network (started by our “sent
out” leaders) would have its own autonomous government
but would be encouraged to partner with ‘CCC’ and
be a part of our over arching association.
- (c)
An annual offering may be sent from this newly formed network
to ‘CCC’ so that we can be empowered to replicate
the same process in other regions. Subsequently each successive
regional network started by an associate leader would be encouraged
to partner with us financially as the Lord leads.
- Trans-local
ministers of ‘CCC’ who are not called to build in one
primary region will be encouraged to remain as members of ‘CCC’ for
the duration of their ministry (because they are not called to be
attached to any one region their membership status with ‘CCC’ would
not have to be redefined).
- Woman
who function in ascension gift ministry will be welcomed in our network.
Trans-local women and women who oversee churches will utilize the
leadership of ‘CCC’ as their spiritual covering.
- The membership
of ‘CCC’ will not necessarily be composed of ministries
who espouse the same doctrinal beliefs in all matters. (E.g. church
government, eschatology…. Calvinism and Arminianism….)
All members should confess the major doctrines of orthodox Christianity,
(e.g. Includes the apostles creed and the creeds developed during
the councils of Nicea, Chalcedon, and Constantinople) believe in
the plenary inspiration of scripture and receive ascension gift ministry
and the charismatic gifts of the Spirit. Members should function
in or receive local church government that has a biblical and historical
precedent that involves the “set man” principle. (A principle
where the overseeing elder/pastor has been empowered to be the visionary
leader of the local church they serve in.) (Acts 15:13; Titus 2:15;
2 Corinthians 13:10 and 1 Corinthians 4:15, 16 & 21) In certain
situations a review of the church by-laws will be requested to evaluate
some of the aforementioned issues.
- All members
will renew their covenant with ‘CCC’ annually (at which
time credentials will also be renewed).
- ‘CCC’ reserves
the right to withdraw or refuse to renew the credentials of an individual
who doesn’t comply with our membership standards. In some instances
a member may be put on probation or submit to a process of restoration
that is recommended by; and agreeable to the leadership of ‘CCC’,
the member and possibly the governing board of their church or ministry.
(‘CCC is not obligated to get involved in the legal or governmental
affairs of a church or ministry).
